The 2023 NFL Combine held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis will come to an end tonight. Prospective players who came from all over the country to showcase their skills will now spend close to six weeks in agony to know which team was most impressed by them and selects them in the draft scheduled for 27 April to 29 April in Union Station, Kansas City.

Players were tested on a variety of attributes, such as speed, catching ability, mental strength, strength, and conditioning. Like always, players were also put under the microscope for being too short or too lightweight. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young was the one who was subjected to this ridicule as scouts called him out on his 5-foot-10 height. Teams are now wary of drafting him after looking at his measurements, but he is still projected to go in the first round itself.

Florida’s signal-caller Anthony Richardson had one of the best Combine performances for a QB since 2003. He ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash, the fourth fastest by a quarterback, and set Combine records for QBs in vertical jump (40.50″) and broad jump (10’09”). Pittsburgh’s Calijah Kancey recorded the fastest 40-yard dash by a defensive tackle with 4.67 seconds surpassing Aaron Donald’s time, which is a big achievement as well.

The most interesting and fun event to watch in the entire Combine is the 40-yard dash. Players of every position have to complete this so that teams can assess their explosiveness and speed during plays. Everyone keeps track of who ran the fastest 40-yard and mostly this title is taken away by a wide receiver or running backs, but history did not repeat itself this year.

Michigan’s cornerback DJ Turner ran the fastest 40-yard in the 2023 NFL Combine. Last week on Friday, Turner ran a 4.26-second 40-yard dash but couldn’t be declared the fastest because many players were yet to complete their 40-yard dash. Now finally, DJ Turner can be crowned the fastest player in the 2023 class. Below are the five best performances in the 40-yard dash event of the 2023 NFL Combine.

  • DJ Turner – 4.26 seconds (defensive back)
  • Jakorian Bennett – 4.30 seconds (defensive back)
  • Davon Achane – 4.32 seconds (running back)
  • Trey Palmer – 4.33 seconds (wide receiver)
  • Deonte Banks – 4.35 seconds (defensive back)

DJ Turner has the potential to become a star cornerback given his explosiveness and speed, and can change directions quickly. NFL scouts believe that he can become a stalwart guy in secondary within two years. Let’s see which team drafts Turner and how he fares in the league with top athletes.
