“Better than Taylor Swift,” NFL Twitter goes BERSERK as Rihanna set to headline Super Bowl LVII halftime show

The Super Bowl is one of the most sought after sporting events in a calender year with the NFL growing in popularity every year. Apart from the sporting perspective, is the Super Bowl halftime show which has created a niche for itself.
Over the years, the NFL has seen some exemplary performances during the halftime show which have etched themselves in the minds of the viewers justifiably. And to add to that list, this year the Super Bowl LVII halftime show will feature the legendary Barbadian pop singer, Rihanna.
Taylor Swift reportedly turned down the offer last week to headline the Super Bowl

After a lengthy skirmish, as to who would feature in the historical event, the NFL finally announced Rihanna as the headliner for the show. Recently, it was announced that Apple Music have been given new sponsorship rights for the halftime event, taking them from Pepsi, the previous owners.
The Barbadian singer, announced the news on her official Instagram account posting a picture of the football. The caption read, “Let’s. Do. This,” and it was immediately shared from the NFL’s social media handles as well.
The announcement was met with an exceptional response from the fans, especially after the whole fiasco last week wherein there were strong rumours that Taylor Swift has reportedly turned down the role for being the headliner.
The last Super Bowl LVI halftime show was headlined by Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and 50 Cent at this year’s NFL championship game at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium. The event earned as many as three Emmy awards.
The Super Bowl LVII is scheduled to be hosted on the 12th of February, 2023 at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
