Who knew Big Dom’s suspension would cost the Philadelphia Eagles such a hefty price? From leading the league at 10-1 to getting eliminated at the very first game of the playoffs, the Eagles’ collapse remained one of the most baffling turn of events in recent times. And it all began in week 13!
When the Eagles faced their second defeat of the season, against the San Francisco 49ers in week 13, the following weeks resulted in a contagion effect. As a result, they couldn’t win the NFC East title.

But a crucial thing observed with Philly’s subsequent losses after week 13, was the suspension of the team’s chief security officer, Dom DiSandro.

DiSandro came under the spotlight after his physical quarrel with Niners linebacker Dre Greenlaw on the Eagles sideline. This resulted in his banishment from the Philly sideline for the rest of the regular season. His absence was partly hard for head coach Nick Sirianni, as DiSandro used to keep the head coach’s emotions from the sideline under control.
But as he was banished, Sirianni ended up getting into “numerous arguments with players/coaches during games.” It was the biggest reason why the Eagles concluded the 2023 regular season with 1-5, as reported by Philadelphia radio host Derrick Gunn, on Wednesday.
Nick Sirianni stays as Eagles’ head coach despite poor season
After the Eagles’ downfall late in the regular season and the first game of the playoffs, the franchise’s decision to continue with Sirianni as the head coach surprised many across the league as well as social media.

But there is a change as for the next season, Sirianni has decided to give up playcalling, arguing that his team needs a new perspective. He said in a press conference:
I just think right now we just need to bring some new ideas from the outside. We need to bring a guy in with new ideas that's not part of this family of coaches.Nick Sirianni said
Sirianni later hired Kellen Moore as Philly’s new offensive coordinator. The Eagles are making all their weapons ready as they aim for the Super Bowl trophy, after two failed attempts.
