If there is one coach in all of the sports who has gained notoriety for being straight-up honest, it is none other than Bill Belichick. The Patriots Head Coach has been known to make reporters feel and look stupid even if their questions were genuine by giving out unfiltered answers. Bill has done it again as on Monday as he confirmed that the Patriots were considering signing free agent wideout DeAndre Hopkins but did not know when it would happen.

DeAndre Hopkins was let go by the Arizona Cardinals as the team was just not able to trade him and get back enough value in exchange for him as per sources. While he is a great wideout, he has been susceptible to injuries, and him being tested positive for PEDs did not help his case either. Hopkins is set to visit a bunch of teams ranging from the Tennessee Titans to the Patriots.

The timeline for his visit to the New England Patriots remains unknown. A report indicated that DHop was set to visit the team on Tuesday and Head Coach Bill Belichick was asked about the same. However, Bill was not pleased with this question and responded in the most Belichick kind of way.

He stated that the team was “working through some things” on when the wideout will be visiting the team this week, but he does not know when it will come to fruition as “I’m not a travel agent.” That’s fair Bill.

While the Head Coach would not admit it directly, his players have been vouching for Hopkins. Mac Jones, the quarterback for the team, admitted that he would love to have Hopkins onboard. “I think that’s definitely a hypothetical, but I think DeAndre’s a great player. You watch his film from college all the way through the NFL, he’s done a great job. So obviously, we’d love to have him. But we do have a great group of guys,” Jones stated.

New England has had a wideout problem as two of their top players have been riddled with injuries. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton are sidelined for the moment. Heading into this season, the team can use DeAndre Hopkins along with tight ends Mike Gesicki and Hunter Henry. New England has been a place where players go to redeem themselves. Will DHop be able to do that? Time will tell.
