Patriots HC Bill Belichick breaks silence on Tom Brady reaching 100k passing yards record
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick
Tom Brady and his former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick did not end their relationship on a good note, as is the popular belief. If you too are a believer in this popular notion, think again, especially after the duo’s comments on each other.
Brady, arguably the greatest player that the NFL has seen, started his career under one of the best masterminds of the game in the form of Belichick. The duo combined to lift a record six Super Bowl titles and were the most feared head coach-quarterback partnership during the past decade.
Despite having moved on from the Patriots in 2020, Brady still continues to break records as he became the first player to breach the humongous 100,000 passing yards record during the Buccaneers‘ latest victory against the Los Angeles Rams.
Tom Brady enjoyed unimaginable success with Bill Belichick during his 20-year spell with the New England Patriots
The record simply shows Brady’s longevity and tenacity throughout his career, a fact that even Bill Belichick acknowledged during his recent appearance on The Greg Hill Show. Belichick pinpointed Brady’s consistency and accuracy as the reasons for him getting to the epic landmark.
“Longevity, accuracy, consistency . . . just doing so many things right in the passing game for so long. It’s a phenomenal accomplishment and really happy for him. Nobody deserves it more than he does. He’s worked extremely hard and is very good at what he does. That’s an amazing stat,” Bill Belichick said.
“I don’t even know how far 100,000 yards is . . . must be a long way. I don’t know how many miles . . . I have no idea. That’s a great accomplishment.”
Belichick was even more surprised to find out how much 100k passing yards would amount to if converted into miles. When Belichick was told that it would amount to a whopping 56.8 miles, he replied, “Jesus.”
