“Don’t worry about it.” HC Bill Belichick had a dubious reaction to QB Mac Jones being booed by the Patriots fans

Patriots HC Bill Belichick decided to replace fans’ favorite QB Bailey Zappe with Mac Jones and people weren’t exactly happy about it. Although the Patriots were victorious over the Jets, Jones was met with boos from the Patriots fans.

Mac Jones was replaced by rookie Bailey Zappe mid-game in the last week’s loss to the Bears as Jones was playing badly and needed to be taken off. But the veteran HC put his faith in the QB and he delivered.

Jones had a great game against the Jets where he threw for 194 passing yards, a touchdown pass with only one interception. Jones helped the Patriots get their 4th win of the NFL season.

Although, the strong performance from Mac Jones wasn’t able to convince all the fans as he was booed regardless during the game and people wanted Zappe to come and replace him.

Patriots HC Bill Belichick was recently asked about this incident when he was featured on the ‘Greg Hill Show‘. The veteran QB reacted in his typical way, which left many people confused.

“I was really focused on the game yesterday. The Jets [fans] booed all of us,” Bill Belichick stated on the show. “They booed me about six times. Walking out on the field, walking in after pregame, walking back at the start of the game. Walking in at halftime, walking back. I mean, there were some Patriots fans there and we had a good crowd. But they booed me in the parking lot. They booed me. I got booed all day.”

Bailey Zappe and Mac Jones

Bill Belichick has two quality QBs under his disposal and he can’t decide who to pick and who to drop. Both the Patriots’ QBs are extremely talented and hard-working. Though Bailey Zappe is younger and a rookie, Mac Jones offers a very important experience.

Bailey Zappe is also more loved by the fans because of his zest and electric attitude, but Belichick currently has put his faith in Mac Jones, who seems to deliver.

Bill Belichick isn’t concerned about the boos he received during the game as getting a win is way more important and these things should not break your morale.

“That’s what it’s like on the road,” Bill Belichick stated on the Greg Hill Show. “I guess that’s a good thing. If they were cheering for you on the road, they’re probably happy to see you. I don’t think you want that. It’s the NFL. Don’t worry about it.”
