As the New England Patriots faced another tragic loss against the Miami Dolphins in Week 8, the recurring questions again stood in front of coach Bill Belichick about the quarterback Mac Jones‘ future with the team. The incompetency of the quarterback again crushed the Patriots, leading to Sunday’s loss. And now, again, everyone wants to know whether Belichick is going to stick with Jones or not in the future.

When coach Belichick was asked, his response seemed quite vague, as he said nothing about Jones individually, but rather focused on the whole team.

We all need to play better. We all need to coach and play better.

With the Patriots coach’s vague response on the quarterback’s future with the team, it seems like he is losing his confidence in Jones at this point. Though there are better players like Malik Cunningham, Bailey Zappe, and Will Grier who can easily replace Jones, it’s Belichick’s confidence in him that brought him so far.

In the game against the Dolphins, Jones’ lack of performance in the game led to a red-zone interception at the end of the first half, which changed the whole game. He was sacked three times and recorded 19 of 29 for 161 yards along with two touchdowns and one pick.

At this moment, the Patriots stand at 2-6, which is the worst record ever in the AFC so far this season, yet quarterback Jones isn’t doing the required work for his team. This is turning into the worst season of Belichick’s 30-year-long coaching career as head coach. Right now, the team needs to be united and play better together, and Belichick needs to tighten his beat and coach better.

Jaylen Waddle’s late touchdown sealed the Dolphins’ win over the Patriots

After a surprising victory over the Buffalo Bills last week, the Patriots were facing one of the top-rated offenses of the NFL this week. They tried to limit the big plays, however, one touchdown late in the game crushed all their hopes of beating the Miami Dolphins.

Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill had a star moment catching a 42-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Though the quick strikes by Miami were kept finite, it was Hill’s co-receiving threat, Jaylen Waddle, who outshined the Patriots.

Another impressive move by the Dolphins with 2:41 minutes left, when Tua Tagovailoa caught Waddle wide-open at 15, with no defender from the Patriots backing him. As Waddle ran into the end zone, the Dolphins claimed their victory at 31-17.

After the poor loss, the Patriots not only lost their division rankings but also its key players DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne to head and knee injuries, respectively. Moreover, Quarterback Jones threw an interception late in the first half, which turned out to be quite hefty for the Patriots.
