Patriots HC Bill Belichick’s alleged tussle with Robert Kraft intensifies after Mac Jones was spotted with Tom Brady at boss’ summer bash amid coach’s snub

Tensions are on the rise in the New England Patriots camp. Amidst the Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft rift rumors, a photo posted by Devin McCourty has caused a stir once again. A few days ago McCourty posted a selfie with Tom Brady and Mac Jones together which has now intensified the alleged tussle between Kraft and Belichick.
The selfie seemingly taken at Kraft’s annual summer bash has The Boston Globe reporter Ben Volin questioning the relationship between Kraft and the young QB Mac Jones. “Two of the invitees are understandable. Brady won six Super Bowls for Kraft and increased the value of his team by billions. McCourty was a 12-year captain who won three Super Bowls. They get seats at the Kraft table for life,” wrote Volin. “But Jones? Already getting the invite to the Hamptons after two mediocre seasons with the Patriots?”
It seems like Kraft’s relationship with Jones is on the upwards swing while the Pats owner’s relationship with head coach Belichick is on the downward spiral. Belichick reportedly had issues with Mac Jones for seeking outside counsel following his average outing in his second year in the league. Furthermore, he refused to name Jones as the starter and claimed that there is a QB battle between Jones and Bailey Zappe for the starting QB role.
On the other hand, Belichick recently came out and implied that the Pats spending less money in the off-season than the other teams is the reason behind their failure in the last 3 seasons. But owner Robert Kraft came out and said that money is not the issue for the Patriots and Belichick has always gotten everything he wanted. And now, it seems like Kraft is choosing the Pro Bowl QB over the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach.
Is the Patriots head coach Bill Belichick in hotseat?
Ever since Tom Brady left New England back in the 2020 off-season, the Patriots under head coach Bill Belichick really haven’t won anything in the league. The Pats missed playoffs in 2 of the last 3 seasons and haven’t won a single playoff game since Brady’s departure.
And now, if the Patriots’ awful campaign continues, owner Robert Kraft might move on from the legendary HC Belichick as soon as following the 2023 season.
Kraft is reportedly high on the Patriots’ former first-round draft pick Mac Jones and reportedly has taken his side over Belichick. The head coach’s alleged disapproval of Jones doesn’t help to cool down the situation as well.
