Earlier this month, the New England Patriots parted ways with their veteran head coach Bill Belichick following a dominant run that spanned more than two decades. After that, Belichick had two interviews with the Atlanta Falcons to fill their vacant head coach position, but the organization has now hired the former Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as their new leader.
On Thursday, the Falcons officially announced that they are announcing Raheem Morris as their new head coach. Three years ago, Morris used to be an interim head coach for the Falcons and went 4-7 before being replaced by Arthur Smith in the following season.

And now, life comes full circle for him as he is now replacing Smith as the Falcons’ new head coach. Morris also used to be a head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011. For the last three years, Raheem Morris worked with the Los Angeles Rams as the defensive coordinator and is a well-respected coach in the league.
The Falcons have finally found their next leader. However, this is bad news for Bill Belichick, whose future in the league is now in question with that hire. Belichick had two interviews with the Falcons and was the favorite to land the gig in Atlanta, but he lost his momentum in the last few days.
Besides, surprisingly, Atlanta was the only team that showed interest in roping the veteran leader. According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, no other team has had talks with Belichick so far.
The only team that he has spoken to so far, to my knowledge, is the Falcons. And so while we wondered about Dallas, we wondered about Philly, we wonder about Buffalo, you can do that exercise for a lot of teams because he is the greatest coach of all-time. He belongs somewhere. So it’s a little strange.Adam Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show
Social media reacts to Falcons hiring Raheem Morris over Bill Belichick
NFL fans on social media couldn’t believe the Falcons chose Raheem Morris as their new head coach, despite conducting two interviews for the veteran leader Bill Belichick.

Furthermore, fans believe Belichick wouldn’t get a chance anywhere else in the league and suspect his NFL career as a head coach is now in jeopardy. Check out some of the reactions attached below.

Nonetheless, some Falcons are excited about the hiring since Morris has done a good job as the defensive coordinator of the Rams in the last three years. As for Belichick, only time can tell the answer for what his future will be.
