“Bill has a plan for EVERYTHING!”: Former Patriots offensive coach Josh McDaniels believes they will do fine without him

It would be unfair to say that the New England Patriots do not miss the likes of having Josh McDaniels as their offensive coach given his exploits plus being able to guide young talents like Mac Jones.

However the Las Vegas Raiders have managed to snatch McDaniels from the Patriots and now they have his services. Hence the question obviously arises that will the New England Patriots be able to thrive in the absence of a proven offensive tactician?

While Josh McDaniels seems to be loving his life as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, the same cannot be said for the New England Patriots who have failed to find a solid offensive plan three weeks into preseason already.

Although senior football advisor/offensive line coach Matt Patricia and offensive assistant/quarterbacks coach Joe Judge have both taken decisions for offensive during the exhibition games, head coach Bill Belichick has said that he will be making the final calls. Moreover Josh McDaniels says that having been associated with Belichick for such a long time, he knows that the latter will always be having a plan.

“I think at the end of the day, Bill has a plan for everything he wants to do, and sometimes that plan has foresight that the rest of us don’t have,” said McDaniels.

That plan sometimes — he has foresight that some of the rest of us don’t have. I didn’t have it when he pushed me ahead and helped me do that. I’ve got a lot of friends over there, I’ve got a lot of people over there that I have a tremendous amount of respect for. Coaching is coaching. You learn something new every day. I don’t have every answer on offense. I don’t have every answer on defense or in the special teams area. That’s why you have a staff: So you work together and try to produce the best result you can.”
