Bill Maher dislikes Donald Trump so much that he started hating football for what it had become due to the former president's influence

“Hey Tom, F**k you!” Bill Maher once RIDICULED Tom Brady over his political ideology revolving around Donald Trump

It’s not a secret that political satirist Bill Maher has an irk for all things Donald Trump. A self-proclaimed 9/11 liberal, Maher’s targets often lie on the Right side of the spectrum. So naturally, he won’t be a bit scornful when he hears Trump’s name or those who show support for him. No wonder it did not shock many when Maher lashed out at Tom Brady for backing Donald Trump for the presidency.

In 2017, before the big Super Bowl game between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots, the 67-year-old did not hold back an inch. “The Falcons are playing a team where the coach and the quarterback [Tom Brady] all love Trump,” said Maher on his show Real Time. Then he claimed that even though he “couldn’t give a sh*t” about Atlanta, “he (Donald Trump) has made me love the Atlanta Falcons.”

Maher’s passionate love for the Falcons started overnight. Despite not knowing any player’s name, he was aware that the Falcons were playing Tom Brady. The comedian gave the reason, saying, “I love them because Tom Brady was one of the first to display a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat.”

He was genuinely pissed at the Super Bowl winner, mocking him, saying that America must have been hard on Brady, which is why he wanted Trump in the White House. “Hey Tom, fu*k you,” Maher added. “You’re a great quarterback, but your political instincts suck.”

The executive producer of ‘Vice’, Maher, was cross with Trump, alleging that he was the reason the NFL is a mess. According to him, the Super Bowl is the one event where liberals and Democrats can set aside their differences and watch TV. “He (Trump) made it tawdry and cheap,” claimed Maher.

Despite Bill Maher’s criticism, Tom Brady wanted to keep his relationship with Donald Trump private

After Bill Maher’s unwarranted attack on Tom Brady, the 15-time Pro Bowler reacted with his own take on the matter. Then, at 37, Brady questioned the media’s constant curiosity on the matter, saying, “I don’t understand why that makes such a big deal?” He then mentioned that they have known each other long enough and do exchange pleasantries via phone from time to time. “It’s just a friendship,” Brady added. “I have a lot of friends. I call a lot of people.” However, Brady recently came out and said he doesn’t talk with Donald Trump anymore.

While Brady was trying to keep his private life out of media attention, Bill Maher was taking a swipe at NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Maher addressed Goodell, saying, “You are very close to losing a lifetime football fan.” Part owner of the baseball team, the New York Mets, Maher had some knowledge about the inner workings of the sporting world. He did not like what he was witnessing at NFL matches: “It’s too painful to see people being crunched. It is too violent.”

Maher was discussing the linkage between professional football and brain trauma with Bob Costas on his show. He revealed that he had grown up a New York Giants fan, but he became the loudest Falcons fan because they were facing Brady and the Patriots.
