“SHOCKING,” Bills Punter Matt Araiza and 2 SDSU teammates accused of brutally gang-raping a minor

Matt Araiza, the Buffalo Bills’ sixth-round pick in the NFL 2022 draft, has been accused of gang-raping a 17-year-old last year along with two of his former San Diego State teammates in a lawsuit filed in the San Diego County superior court on Thursday. The rookie punter was named the starter by the Bills franchise ahead of Matt Haack, the team’s punter last year.
The other two men involved in the lawsuit include Zavier Leonard and Nowlin Ewaliko. The NFL recently stated that it was aware of the lawsuit, however, since the alleged rape took place before Araiza was drafted, he would not be subject to the league’s personal conduct policy.
The lawsuit accuses Araiza and his former teammates of having non-consensual sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old high schooler at Araiza’s residence while he was 21 at that time. The Bills recently released a statement stating that they were made aware of the accusation, however, since this is an ongoing civil case, they’ll refrain from making a comment. The victim stated that she was raped for at least an hour and a half, till the party was shut down and at least four men were present in the room.
‘Punt God,’ Matt Araiza facing major trouble off the field as the lawsuit begins to rile up

“It’s a shakedown because he’s now with the Buffalo Bills,” Armstrong said. “There is no doubt in my mind that Matt Araiza ever raped that girl,” said Kelly Armstrong, Araiza’s lawyer.
The woman also claims that she had already been drinking that night before arriving at the party and recollects Araiza giving her a drink, though she doesn’t remember watching him pour the drink, indirectly stating that she believes the drink contained some other intoxicating substances, besides alcohol. Furthermore, she claims to have gone to the police the next day after the party and also underwent a rape exam at a hospital.
San Diego police have not publicly named any suspects and no arrests have been made.
