Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills managed to secure a win in a close game against their division rivals, Miami Dolphins, during the wildcard weekend. The game did not go as expected since the Dolphins showed up big time and managed to hang in with the Bills despite missing their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa. Miami’s head coach Mike McDaniel was calling a masterful game until he messed it up in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
The Buffalo QB Josh Allen had an average outing as he managed to throw three touchdown passes, but was also responsible for three turnovers. He was picked off two times by the Miami defender and was also responsible for a fumble which was recovered and returned for a touchdown by the Dolphins‘ DT Zach Sieler. With the defensive touchdown, they took a 24-20 lead and shocked everyone, including the Dolphins fans.
Allen and the Bills managed to overcome the setback as they ended up winning the game with the final score of 34-31 and eliminated the Dolphins. Furthermore, the Bills QB managed to add salt to the Phins fans’ injury as he ended up breaking the record of Dolphins legend Dan Marino for most consecutive games with multiple touchdowns against a single opponent.
The 26-year-old QB has 11 straight games with multiple TDs against the Miami Dolphins. The previous record was held by Dan Marino, who had 10 straight games with multiple TDs against the New York Jets.
Bills QB Josh Allen eyes Super Bowl glory
The wild weekend of wildcard games is almost over and the AFC divisional matchups are set for this weekend. There’s still just one wildcard game remaining as the Buccaneers are preparing to face the Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
In AFC, the (1st seed) Chiefs will go against Trevor Lawrence and the (4th seed) Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chiefs are coming off of a bye week and the Jaguars are coming off a miraculous comeback victory against the LA Chargers.
In another matchup, the (2nd seed) Bills will take on the defending AFC Champions (3rd seed) Cincinnati Bengals this weekend. Josh Allen just had an average outing against the Dolphins and will look to redeem himself by outperforming the former No.1 overall pick Joe Burrow.
The Bills have reached four Super Bowls so far and yet they have nothing to show for it except four consecutive Super Bowl losses. The Wyoming product will fight hard to help the franchise hoist the coveted Lombardi Trophy for the first time in its history.
