DeAndre Hopkins continues to remain a free agent even two months after his departure from the Arizona Cardinals. However, that situation might change soon with the Buffalo Bills ready to make an offer for the wide receiver according to ESPN insider, Jeff Darlington.

Darlington talked about the current situation surrounding Hopkins’ during his latest appearance on the Rich Eisen show. He indicated that the Bills want Hopkins to join them if and only if the 31-year-old is willing to agree to a pay cut on joining the franchise, a situation termed as “ring chasing.”

Darlington stated, “My understanding with the Bills is like, yeah, they love DeAndre Hopkins, he’d be a great addition, but they’re not gonna pay him.” However, the general consensus is that Hopkins has already priced himself out of the Bills despite the franchise showing genuine interest in acquiring the services of the wide receiver.

The Bills will undoubtedly be bolstered with the addition of Hopkins, who would potentially join hands with star quarterback Josh Allen – a combination that will make all other franchises envious of the Bills’ resources ahead of the 2023/24 season. For the Bills, Hopkins’ signing will also help them take away some of the attention from the controversies surrounding star receiver Stefon Diggs, a story that has developed significantly over the offseason.

DeAndre Hopkins is one of the most sought-after wide receivers in the NFL at the moment and has also attracted interest from the likes of the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots. In turn, Hopkins has also visited both facilities in the past month but is yet to sign for either of them in a bid to attract more interest from other franchises.

Hopkins is clearly looking for more financially rich deals to head his way in the near future. Earlier another ESPN reporter, Mike Reiss disclosed that between the Titans and Patriots, the former have offered Hopkins a better deal and have been more “aggressive to this point” to seek an advantage over their opponent.

Hopkins was the Cardinals’ best receiver last season despite having missed six games due to a suspension and it is no surprise that franchises are fighting amongst themselves to get hold of the wide receiver this season.
