The NFL off-season is getting interesting. With just a few weeks left for the 2024 NFL Draft, the college prospects are showing off their traits at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. During the second day of the Combine, Florida State Seminoles defensive lineman Braden Fiske impressed a lot of people with remarkable performances.
Especially, during the 40-yard dash event, the 6’3″ 292 pounds defensive lineman put on a show and outran all the other defensive linemen. Fiske ran an impressive 4.78-second 40-yard dash and impressed even the commentators.
Furthermore, towards the end of his run, Fiske yelled, “Oh yeah” as he was impressed with his own performance. The short video of Fiske’s epic reaction went viral on social media and accumulated more than 1 million views within just hours of posting. Check out the footage of his reaction attached below.
Braden Fiske didn’t just outrun the defensive linemen. He also had a better 40-yard time than the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Before the start of the NFL Combine, Mahomes joked that the league was going to use the footage of his poor 40-yard timing to compare with other athletes. But, he wouldn’t have expected a defensive lineman to outrun him in the Combine.
Apart from the impressive 40-yard dash, Braden Fiske also registered the highest vertical jump (33.5″), longest broad jump (9’9″), and fastest 20-yard shuttle (4.37 seconds) at his position. He had a great day at the Combine, which has boosted his stocks ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Braden Fiske’s draft stock rises after NFL Combine
The Florida State Seminoles defensive lineman Braden Fiske went all out on proving his work in the NFL Combine. He put on a show, which helped boost his draft stock.
Ahead of the Combine, NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah ranked Braden Fiske as the 45th-best prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft. But, after the Combine, Jeremiah believes Fiske might work himself into becoming a late first-round selection.
Fiske, I think this dude, he's a lock for the second round in my opinion. He might end up finding his way into the bottom of the first round.Daniel Jeremiah said of Braden Fiske
Fiske spent five years with Western Michigan before transferring to Florida State ahead of his final season in college football. In his final season, he registered 6 sacks, 9 tackles for loss, and 43 total tackles.
He is now expected to be targeted by many teams, including the Cincinnati Bengals in the upcoming draft. On the flip side, Dallas Turner, who was considered the best defensive line prospect, had a bad day at the Combine, which resulted in his stock taking a hit.
