The Denver Broncos, led by the 9-time Pro Bowl QB Russell Wilson, had a terrible outing in 2022 and finished dead last in the AFC West with an ugly 5-12 record. Wilson received heavy criticism for the Broncos’ disastrous season. Amidst this, the Miami Dolphins star pass rusher Bradley Chubb has come to the aid of his former teammate.
“He gets so much flak. It’s crazy, bro, because he do the absolute most that he can possibly do to make sure that he’s the best he possibly can be, you know what I mean?” Chubb said in a recent episode of the Dolphins‘ star wideout Tyreek Hill‘s ‘It Needed To Be Said’ podcast.
“He doesn’t miss a step. When he has a fluke year like this, bro, you just have to chalk it up. Bro, you had a bad year. But it gets so glorified because of who he is, who he’s been, what he’s done. You have to look it as a nod to who you are as a person,” Chubb continued.
The star pass rusher Bradley Chubb ended the season in Miami, but he started the year with Wilson and the Broncos and went through some tough periods. As soon as the Broncos looked shaky, the Denver-based franchise traded their best defensive player to the Dolphins to bag a first-round pick in the 2023 draft.
As for Russell Wilson, the veteran quarterback had one of the worst campaigns of his career so far. The horrific campaign resulted in the Broncos firing their rookie head coach Nathaniel Hackett even before the 2022 regular season came to an end.

Following the abysmal season in 2022, the Broncos front office made some tough calls. During the mid-season, the Denver-based football team fired their rookie head coach Nathaniel Hackett and also traded one of their best players, Bradley Chubb, to secure a first-round draft pick.
Furthermore, during the off-season, the Broncos went all out to rope in the former New Orleans Saints, head coach Sean Payton. The controversial coach returns to coaching football after taking a break from the NFL in 2022.
And now, under the new partnership of the Super Bowl-winning QB Russell Wilson and HC Sean Payton, the Broncos are looking to turn the franchise back to winning ways in the upcoming season. In their season opener, the Broncos will host their AFC West division rivals the Las Vegas Raiders on September 10. Wilson and company would look to set the tone for the 2023 season in week 1 itself with a victory.
