Considering the situation, Purdy stepped up at the moment and threw the ball to the WR. He slightly overthrew the ball it was on the verge of an interception. But, Aiyuk quickly capitalized on things, although he was a bit lucky.

Brock Purdy explained the stunning throw to Brandon Aiyuk

Addressing the press, Purdy said that he did not regret throwing the ball too deep. He had several opportunities to play it safe. Nonetheless, he did not opt for it. Instead, he preferred to take the calculated risk by throwing it to the wide receiver.

The quarterback said, addressing the media:

Yeah, that moment I was looking at like we need to play. Not gonna be stupid just throw the ball up but be one-on-one. I am gonna take that up. Especially in that kind of game, we need that kind of play. Yeah, people can say what they want, but I was giving my guy a shot, and it worked out.
