49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk shares an extremely cryptic ‘6-word’ IG post following girlfriend Rochelle Searight’s shocking revelations amid Super Bowl loss
Aiyuk wrote a message possibly directed at girlfriend Searight that he wasn't very pleased with her viral video.

Despite putting up career-high numbers of 75 receptions for 1342 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns in the 2023 season, Brandon Aiyuk failed to make an impact in the Super Bowl. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver only registered 3 catches for 49 yards with an average of 16.3 yards per catch.
A day later, on Monday, Aiyuk’s girlfriend of seven years, Rochelle Searight, dropped a TikTok video like a bomb. In the clip, Searight teased that it was their last day visiting Levi’s Stadium (the 49ers home stadium).

While there’s very little clarity as to what she was trying to convey, there’s only one possible outcome. The 49ers could be trading Aiyuk away. However, she did not specify who ‘we’ were because she only mentioned herself and her son Baylon.
Shortly after the video went viral on the internet, Aiyuk wrote a message on his Instagram account. It read:
Don't forget what got you there.Brandon Aiyuk on Instagram
Once again, it’s only speculation that this message was a reply to Searight’s video. Perhaps the news of Aiyuk’s fifth-year extension had skipped her mind.
Possible landing spots for Brandon Aiyuk if he requests a trade
The San Francisco 49ers added the Arizona State graduate as their 25th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He had signed a four-year rookie contract worth $12.5 million with an option for a one-year extension. The 49ers general manager, John Lynch, decided to pick up the fifth-year option in April 2023. So Aiyuk is set to earn $14.5 million in the 2024–25 season. After that, he will be a free agent unless they negotiate a new deal.

In between, there’s a possibility that Aiyuk himself could ask for a trade for more game time. Or the 49ers could move him on to free some of the cap space, which is down to $3,720,835 as per Over the Cap. Winning the Super Bowl would have given them a significant cash injection. The loss to the Chiefs will force the 49ers to make some tough decisions. So what franchises could suit the Cali native?
Kansas City Chiefs
One of the easiest options would be the Kansas City Chiefs. The Super Bowl doesn’t take away their receiver woes throughout the regular season. They led the league in dropped catches with 44. Barring tight end Travis Kelce and rookie playmaker Rashee Rice, no other Chiefs receiver crossed 500 receiving yards in 2023.
Unlike the 49ers, Clark Hunt has a decent chunk of money to work with. On top of that, if Chris Jones leaves, there will be additional cap space. Furthermore, Kelce is getting older; there’s no guarantee of how long he will be able to continue his All-Pro level numbers. So trading for Aiyuk does sound like a good deal.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals could be a good landing spot for Brandon Aiyuk. A franchise that has Joe Burrow, who is arguably a top-five quarterback when healthy. Burrow has Ja’Marr Chase to look for in the field. Until last season, he also had Tee Higgins, whose contract is up and is set to enter free agency, similar to veteran Tyler Boyd.
The Bengals boast a cap space of $60 million, despite the blockbuster Burrow extension last year. Affording Aiyuk shouldn’t be much of a problem.
Los Angeles Chargers
With the Jim Harbaugh era on the horizon, the Los Angeles Chargers are looking for a strong proposition and are actively building for the future. Aiyuk would love to work under the Chargers’ new offensive coordinator, Greg Roman, who unleashed Zay Flowers in Baltimore.
Former Seattle Seahawks passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal has joined the Chargers. Lal’s guidance established DK Metcalf as one of the elites of the NFL, and he also found Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
The Chargers have a $40 million cap space, and with Keenan Allen being 31 years old, they would require a target man for Justin Herbert. As a bonus, Aiyuk won’t even have to move away from Cali.
