The New York Jets suffered a humiliating loss against the Dak Prescott-led Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. In the absence of the injured Aaron Rodgers, the former second-overall pick, Zach Wilson, led the Jets and had one of the worst performances of his career. As a result, the Jets suffered a 30-10 loss against the Dallas-based football team. Following the humiliating loss, New York’s running back Breece Hall pointed out the reason why his team struggled against the Cowboys.

“I mean, I only got four touches. That’s why we struggled,” Hall told the reporters following the game. “It is what it is. We just got down early today and just abandoned the run. That type of stuff happens. You feel like you have to get back in the game and it just slips away.”

The second-year running back had only 4 carries in the game. He registered 9 rushing yards while averaging 2.2 yards per attempt. In fact, the Jets completely abandoned their running game and relied heavily on Zach Wilson’s arm, which proved to be a huge mistake. Wilson had one of the worst performances of his short career yet.

The third-year quarterback completed only 12 of his 27 pass attempts for 170 yards and 1 touchdown. Furthermore, Wilson threw 3 interceptions in the game which cost the Jets the game. The Cowboys applied relentless pressure on Wilson as the Jets’ offensive line couldn’t contain them. As a result, Wilson and the Jets suffered a humiliating loss against the Cowboys on Sunday.

Breece Hall upset about the Jets abandoning their ground game

After the Jets started trailing the Cowboys early in the game on Sunday, the New York-based football team completely abandoned their ground game, which upset their star running Breece Hall.

Despite having three talented running backs on their roster, the Jets decided to bet on Wilson since the Cowboys started to load the box with 8 players for the major part of the game.

The Jets’ star running backs Dalvin Cook and Hall combined for 16 yards on 8 attempts while averaging two yards per carry. The Jets’ wobbly offensive line didn’t help their ground game at all. Wilson was the leading rusher for the Jets with 36 yards on 5 carries.

Nonetheless, the coaching staff would take notes from this and would likely use their ground-and-pound game next weekend, when they are scheduled to face their AFC East division rivals, New England Patriots. Wilson would look to shut down the critics by having a good outing against the tough Patriots defense next weekend.
