The Houston Texans had a fantastic game as they beat their rivals, the Jacksonville Jaguars, by a stunning margin of 37-17. It was their first win in the CJ Stroud era. The QB, like in two other games, also shined in the third game and provided a stellar performance and attracted the headlines in the media space.

Speaking on the performance of the rookie quarterback post this win, the tight-end Brevin Jordan said to ESPN, “The best thing that happened to the Houston Texans franchise was us beating the Indianapolis Colts last game, last year. We drafted the right guy. Man, he’s a leader. He’s a phenomenal player and a phenomenal guy with God-given talent. Dude, he’s unbelievable.” Jordan is clearly impressed with the new signal caller.

This offseason, the Texans signed the former state quarterback CJ Stroud on a $36.3 million deal. In addition to this, the deal included a signing bonus of $23.38 million. He received the entire signing bonus upfront.

Signing him included a special intention from the Texans’ end. He had ample work on his shoulders since the team had been suffering from poor performance over the years. The former quarterback was failing to meet the expectations and hence they needed a new signing to turn the tables.

The quarterback is doing his work properly. The player had shined in all three games. In the last three games, the player covered 906 passing yards, the highest among the rookie QBs this season and the third highest among the rookie QBs since 1970. He had four touchdowns. His 121 pass attempts came without an interception.

“I have great guys around me. Nothing I can do without those guys up front battling, the receiver running the right route at the right depth, [offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik] calling the right plays at the right time,” the QB said.

Sunday night performance for CJ Stroud against Jaguars

CJ Stroud had a great game on Sunday. He finished 20 of his 30 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns and was not sacked a single time. He was also not intercepted once. Another solid performance that led his team to grab the much-needed win against their rival. He also completed 8 of 12 passes and a touchdown for 125 yards and achieved a 125.3 passer rating.

Talking about his performance post game, coach DeMeco Ryans said, “We have a good one who’s done really good things. He’s improved every week. That’s what I really like and admire about C.J., he’s dialed into improving every week. He’s not satisfied.”

He’s been a leader for us for the offensive unit, and it’s impressive to see a young man go out and continue to get better each week and lead that group,” the coach concluded.

It is to be seen whether the player finishes the season with this form. The Texans team will be going against the Pittsburgh Steelers next.
