“Brian Burns and I are friends now” Mac Jones on his brawl with the Panthers DE last season

The Panthers and Patriots are involved in a brawl yet again but this time it’s not Mac Jones. The recent practice brawl between both teams refreshed memories of the fans who experienced the same thing when the two teams met in November.

Mac Jones who was considerably silent in this season’s brawl was the one who started it last season. The Patriots QB grabbed Brian Burns as burns tried to go for the ball because Jones had been sacked. So, to stop him Mac Jones grabbed his ankle and twisted it.

The Panthers labelled it as dirty play and wanted it to get flagged, but the 23-year-old QB just got up and left. When Jones was asked to produce an apology as Burns had to go off-field to the medical camp, Mac Jones denied it and said he thought Burns had the ball.

Mac Jones didn’t apologize to the Panthers DE at that time but he recently revealed in a press conference on Wednesday, that he spoke to Burns during the Pro Bowl meet and they both made up. “Yeah, I talked with Brian,” Jones said in a press conference. “We already made up at the Pro Bowl, and everything’s good.

“He’s a great player and I just love watching him on film: how he can speed-rush. He’s got good power and he’s just a great football player. He really doesn’t like to talk, he just kind of keeps getting after it and keeps getting after it and I’m kind of the same way. So, we’re definitely friends now. It’s all good.”

Seems like no love was lost between the two players but the same can’t be said about their teammates who got involved in multiple brawls with each other. The Panthers face off against the Patriots yet again in the NFL preseason game and emotions will run very high in that game.
