The New York Giants are not in a good place at the moment. They have started the season with only one win in four games and haven’t looked like a playoff team like they were last season. Their recent loss came against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. It was an ugly one too as the team failed to score a touchdown throughout the game and could only manage a field goal. QB Daniel Jones had another poor game throwing two interceptions and no TDs.
Jones’ second interception came late in the third quarter which left head coach Brian Daboll scratching his head in disbelief. Jones tried to connect with WR Parris Campbell on a 2nd and goal situation, but instead was intercepted by Seahawks defenseman Devon Witherspoon and was returned for a Seattle touchdown. Daboll was visibly surprised by that play and was later seen throwing away his tablet after a brief chat with Jones. Daboll was asked about the incident after the game and he had a rather blunt answer.
When asked about Jones’ interception and the sideline incident that followed, Daboll said, “I was trying to see what he thought and then tell him what I saw.” He refused to get into the “particulars” of that play and simply said, “We just didn’t get the job done.” Daboll was also asked about what Jones should’ve done on that play to which the head coach said, “Obviously not throw an interception.”
The Giants qualified for the playoffs last season and even won the Wild Card game against the Minnesota Vikings. However, their start to the 2023 season hasn’t been great. They were hammered 40-0 in week 1 by the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants will play their next game against the Miami Dolphins and will hope to get a win against them.

Daniel Jones opens up about the Monday Night loss against the Seahawks
Daniel Jones has a poor record in primetime games. He was 1-11 in primetime games entering the Monday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks. After yet another loss, that record is now 1-12. He talked about his performance after the game.
“I mean obviously I didn’t play well enough,” Jones told the reporters. “It was unacceptable and I let the team down, so I’ve got to fix it. I’ve got to work hard to get it right and I’m going to do that.” He further continued by saying, “My play wasn’t good enough. I know that, and that’s what I’m focused on.”
Jones signed a four-year $160 million extension with the Giants this offseason. He hasn’t lived up to that this season and will hope to turn things around as soon as possible. The Giants will play the Miami Dolphins in their next game on October 8.
