Brian Daboll and Tommy DeVito could not hold them back after a dramatic come-from-behind victory against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. The New York Giants are now unbeaten in their last three games and keep faint playoff hopes alive.

Monday night’s football saw its first-ever doubleheader, one taking place down South Beach and the other at the Meadowlands. It went down to the wire at MetLife Stadium. With just under 50 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Packers were leading by two points.

DeVito, on 2nd and 1, found receiver Wan’Dale Robinson near the Packers’ 50, who then gained an extra 20 yards to keep the hopes alive for Daboll. It got tense in the next snap. The Giants rookie QB handed the ball off to running back Saquon Barkley, who could not muscle his way through a wall of green and yellow shirts.

As virtually the last touch of the game, kicker Randy Bullock lined up at the 37-yard line. Bullock buried the ball, stealing the Giants’ fifth win of the season under the Packers’ nose. As soon as the ball went through the goalpost, the ESPN camera crew caught Brian Daboll and Tommy DeVito chest bumping.

Football is a high-stakes game, and every once in a while, two teams push each other to the limit. The New York crowd has been missing that fighting spirit for the majority of the season. That has changed in the last few weeks, and last night it showed in spades.

When both teams realized the game would be settled by a field goal, tension engulfed the East Rutherford venue. Brian Daboll couldn’t bear to look because he had already seen Bullock miss early on in the match. DeVito revealed that he was standing next to the 48-year-old, who was unsure whether to look or not.

I don't know if he would want me to say this, but at first, he wasn't going to look. And then he was like, 'I'm going to look.' So, we stood right next to each other, and as soon as we saw it go in, it was pure excitement. I grabbed him, hugged him, told him I loved him, and then celebrated with my teammates.

The Big Apple native completed 17/21 passes for 158 yards and one touchdown. He also covered the ground well, gaining 71 yards from 10 carries and almost rushing a touchdown in the third quarter. Saquon Barkley rushed for 86 yards and secured two TDs.

According to NFL.com, the 25-year-old became only the second undrafted quarterback to record three wins in their first NFL season during the NFL’s Common Draft Era. Next is a trip to the Mercedes-Benz Super Dome to face the New Orleans Saints.
