There are two sets of people on social media who either religiously follow Brittany Mahomes or detest her completely. She was already a popular individual among football fans, but since Taylor Swift entered the fray, a lot more people became familiar with her.

They can often be seen hanging out at the Arrowhead VIP Suite during Kansas City Chiefs matchdays to cheer for their respective partners, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Even on most away days, they would make their presence felt throughout the stadium and on the internet.

During their latest appearance at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo to watch the Chiefs take on the Buffalo Bills, the two—seemingly now best friends—were seen enjoying themselves in the stands. However, a few allegedly believed that Brittany was trying a bit hard or, rather, being too friendly with Swift.

Social media bash Brittany Mahomes for allegedly ‘overreacting’

When the camera turned towards the duo during the game, Brittany was hugging the pop icon very tightly. In the comment section, one individual wrote that she wanted to take advantage of the fact that the camera was pointing right at them.

“Brittany saw the camera and knew it was time to be obnoxious,” an X (formerly Twitter) user by the name of ‘Bengals Doge’ wrote.

They weren’t the only two in the frame. One was Jason Kelce, who was sitting shirtless at the back and didn’t seem to care that it was freezing outside. The other was Patrick Mahomes Sr., wearing all black, who was about to chug a beer can but stopped midway through, seeing the two girls having fun behind him.

Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift got acquainted after the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer first showed up at GEHA Field back in September last year. They quickly became friends, started going out to dinners, and even developed secret handshakes.

As their friendship grew over time, so did the displeasure of a section of fans on social media over the broadcasters focusing too much on them during game days. There’s bad news for them because the NFL committee is on board with it. And it doesn’t harm the sport; rather, their presence has increased interest in pro football from various parts of the world.

Swift’s vast number of followers tune in to watch the game, anxiously waiting to catch a glimpse. Not only Brittany, but Jason and his wife, Kylie Kelce, who were present yesterday in the stands for the first time, became household names.

Kansas City’s wild-card game, a Peacock exclusive, was the most-watched event on the platform. Anyway, all eyes and ears are on the next episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast, ‘New Heights’, to learn more about some juicy inside gossip from Sunday’s game.
