Looks like San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is having quite some fun away from football, as the team steps into a bye week. After a perfect 5-0 start this season, the team struggled poorly in the last three weeks. As they step into the bye week they plan to switch a restart and get back to their old form.
In that matter, taking a little break from football is a must, like how Purdy is spending quality time with his fiancee Jenna Brandt. The former Iowa State quarterback has been farming on his fiancee’s family farm, as she posted a short video of him on her Instagram.
In the video shared by her, Purdy can be seen driving a tractor to harvest the crops. As fans love seeing NFL players living a simple life, the lovely video is likely to endear a much wider audience base. Purdy went back to Iowa, where he attended college and Brandt played volleyball for Northern Iowa and Iowa State. After playing for the Iowa State Cyclones football team, Purdy was drafted in the NFL by the 49ers in 2022. The quarterback gained fame after the NFC championship game last game with the 49ers.
Currently, the 49ers stand at 5-3 as they prepare to face off on Jacksonville next week. They have fallen from the top to the second position, behind the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC division. In the game against the Bengals, Purdy recorded a 22-for-31 passing for 365 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Brock Purdy’s bye week with fiancee could be the key to his comeback
As the 49ers ought to regain their old form, they hope this idea of taking some time away from football works for quarterback Purdy, and after spending quality time with his fiancee would surely revitalize him. The quarterback had a pretty good start this season where he threw for nine touchdowns and no interceptions. But lately, it seems like he has lost his rhythm as he recorded three touchdowns and five interceptions in just the last three games of the 49ers.
Therefore, if the 49ers aim for playoff appearances, they need their quarterback heading in the right direction. After the loss against the Vikings, Purdy went through the concussion protocol and was likely to get better facing the Bengals, but that didn’t happen either. Moreover, his completion percentage in the last two games has been picked above 70 again.
As many analysts have claimed the 23-year-old Purdy has lost his form, and he should be benched for the remaining season. All these combined make it more crucial for the quarterback to step up his game and lead his team in the tough times. In this bye week, that’s what he needs to work on most and come out taking charge of the game again.
