22-year-old Brock Purdy rewrote the history books once again after he defeated Tom Brady on his debut for the San Francisco 49ers. Mr. Irrelevant, Purdy, made his debut as a starting quarterback for the 49ers against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after Jimmy Garoppolo got himself injured last week which ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Purdy became the first quarterback in NFL history to beat Brady in his first NFL start while becoming the first player to beat someone over twice his age. The 22-year-old hit on 16 of 21 passes for 185 yards and a pair of touchdowns, without an interception. On the contrary, Brady struggled a lot in what was one of the worst losses of his career, completing 34 of 55 passes for just 253 yards, a touchdown, and a pair of interceptions.

Purdy was in lethal form during the first half and when he gave the 49ers a three-score lead with a 27-yard touchdown pass to Christian McCaffrey, his dad, Shawn, was left in tears. It was tears of joy to see his son competing at the highest level against the very best. In all, it was a very wholesome moment for the Purdy family.

With this win, the 49ers are 9-4 for the season and are currently at the top of the NFC West division. They have a two-game lead over the second-placed Seahawks and are in a very comfortable position to make it to the playoffs. They will next face the Seahawks next before taking on the Commanders on Christmas. In the last two games, they will face the Raiders and the Cardinals.
