The Denver Broncos caused a major upset as they defeated the defending Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs in their week 8 matchup. Despite entering the game as heavy home underdogs, the Broncos managed to outduel Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday. Furthermore, after defeating the Chiefs, the Broncos trolled them by playing Travis Kelce‘s girlfriend Taylor Swift‘s songs in their stadium.

In a brief video originally posted by an X user named BigCoin260, the Broncos fans could be seen grooving to Taylor Swift’s 2014 hit song ‘Shake It Off’ as it was played on the speaker at Empower Field at Mile High after Denver got the better of the Kansas City-based football team. Taylor Swift was not in attendance for the game.

Ahead of the matchup, in a video surfaced, Swift’s boyfriend Kelce could be seen dancing to the same song during the MLB World Series game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers. Now, after the game, the Broncos used that song to subtly troll the Chiefs.

On the sporting side of things, Patrick Mahomes had one of the worst performances of the game as he threw for 2 interceptions and 0 touchdowns. His number 1 target, Kelce, once again led the Chiefs in receiving yards, but he only registered 58 yards, which is 50 yards less than his average when Taylor Swift is in attendance.

As a result of Mahomes and Kelce performing below their standards, the Chiefs suffered a 24-9 loss against the Broncos and fell to 6-2. However, they are still tied for the best record in the AFC and are 3 games ahead of every other team in the competitive AFC West division.

Why didn’t Taylor Swift attend the Chiefs-Broncos matchup?

After attending several Chiefs games to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce, the global superstar Taylor Swift did not show up at Denver for Kansas City’s week 8 game against the Broncos.

According to reports, Swift is getting back into tour mode as The Eras Tour is starting back in November. So, Swift won’t be a regular in the Chiefs game for a while. This is a bad news for the Chiefs fans since Kelce is statistically playing a lot better when his alleged girlfriend is cheering him from the stands.

Nonetheless, the Chiefs are now looking to bounce back from the shocking week 8 loss. They will look to register a convincing win over the Miami Dolphins, who the Chiefs are scheduled to face in their week 9 NFL game this weekend.
