Myles Garrett, the defensive end of the Cleveland Browns, has had the good (or maybe bad) fortune of facing both Joe Burrow, the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals, and Lamar Jackson, the signal caller for the Baltimore Ravens. Hence, the player is in a perfect position to judge both of them. And he passed his judgments on.

In the recent episode of the show ‘Up and Adams‘, the Browns DE passed his remark on them. He chose Burrow over Jackson.

I think Joe's coming on strong. I feel like when he's healthy he's one of those guys that can light you up each and every night. I'll take Joe right now as far as who's got the nod over the other right now.

The AFC North division is one of the most competitive divisions in the league with teams like the Bengals and the Ravens. The Bengals are known for their perseverance and coming back from behind.

Last season, they were down by 0-2 and were on the verge of losing their hope for the season. However, they came back from behind and won 12 of their 14 games to step into the playoffs. This season also they are putting up a similar comeback. The team was down by 1-3 in the first four. However, after eight games they are now 5-3 and have won four consecutive games.

The Ravens, on the other hand, have been very consistent for the past few seasons. They made it to the playoffs every year since 2018 apart from 2021. Last year, they lost to the Bengals in the wild-card round and their dream of winning the Super Bowl shattered.

Joe Burrow vs. Lamar Jackson: Who is ahead?

It has been an intense encounter between Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson in terms of stats. Both are brilliant quarterbacks with splendid individual stats. They both have been playing for nearly the same time in the league.

Burrow started his career in 2020 as a regular QB for the Bengals. The Bengals QB has played 50 games for his team. He is considered one of the finest passers of the ball as he has completed 1,250 of his 1,838 passes with a 68% passing record. He has registered 94 touchdowns with 35 interceptions. Burrow has been sacked 142 times in the league.

His rushing stats are also not bad. As a rusher, he has covered 578 rushing yards with 177 carries. The QB has registered 10 rushing touchdowns. He has also had five fumbles.

The discussion regarding rushing yards can not be completed without mentioning the name of Lamar Jackson. Passing and rushing both have been his strengths. As a passer of the ball, Jackson has covered 14,163 yards of passing in 79 games since 2018. With completing 1,236 passes out of his 1,908 attempts he holds a 64.8% passing completion rate. He has also registered 110 touchdowns against 41 interceptions.

At rushing, Jackson holds a splendid record. He has covered 4,877 yards of rushing with 811 carries and has 29 touchdowns. When it comes to rushing, he is far ahead in comparison to Burrow.

While Burrow is better as a passer of the ball, the only thing that gives an extra flower to Jackson in this debate is Jackson’s unanimous MVP title. No one apart from him and Tom Brady has won it. It gives an extra push to Jackson.
