Bruce Miller is a controversial figure in the NFL world. He used to play as a fullback for the San Francisco 49ers for 5 years before he was released by the franchise for allegedly assaulting an elderly person back in 2015. And now, more than two years after his last snap in the league, Miller is once again making headlines, but not for a good reason. The 35-year-old former 49ers fullback Bruce Miller is accused of sending threats to the United States congressman Eric Swalwell.

Swalwell, who is the representative of the 14th district in California, posted a screenshot of a direct message from the former 49ers RB that read, “Would you rather Guantanamo or just execution, f**ing traitor.” After posting the message on social media, the congressman also notified the capitol police of the threat.

Moreover, the 42-year-old congressman claims that the threat has deeply disturbed him and his family. And now, after receiving massive backlash for his threat, Bruce Miller has clapped back at the Democratic congressman while accusing him of committing fraud.

“You’d rather spend the last 7 years committing the biggest fraud in US history, instead of helping people. One that all of you knew from conception was a fraud, and it’s very clear. I never threatened you,” wrote Miller in his explanation on social media.

Miller also went on to accuse Swalwell of screwing around with the Chinese spies and leaving the Bay area in decay. The 6’1″ fullback’s action led to the 49ers organization reaching out to the California district representative.

U.S. Congressman Eric Swalwell has notified the capitol police about the death threat he received from the former San Francisco 49ers running back Bruce Miller. However, this is not the first time Miller is facing legal trouble for his violent behavior.

Back in 2015, Miller pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge in a domestic violence case. Furthermore, Miller was arrested the following year after he allegedly assaulted a 70-year-old man and his 29-year-old son in a Marriott.

Following the arrest, Bruce Miller was released by the 49ers in 2016. He spent the next four years out of the league. However, Miller made a surprise return to the NFL when he signed a one-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars worth approximately $1 million.

Miller’s return to the league was cut short after he was suspended for violating the league’s drug-enhancing policies. He played 8 games as a fullback for the Jaguars and didn’t see much field time.

The 2011 7th-round draft pick registered 798 scrimmage yards and 4 total touchdowns during his 6-year-long career in the NFL. He last played professional football back in 2020 and has been out of the league ever since.
