C.J. Stroud was drafted 2nd overall this year in the NFL draft. The QB was exceptional in his collegiate career and some even believe him to be better than many QBs in the league currently.
The Houston Texans were set on getting their man and they did so. With a new QB, the future looks bright for the Texans and Stroud. However, the 21-year-old needed the reinforcements he was comfortable with and he did just that.
After being drafted, Stroud immediately spoke to the Texans management and asked them to sign the Houston product Nathaniel Dell. The Houston-based team quickly obliged and drafted the WR in the 3rd round of the NFL draft.
Recently, Dell spoke about the same in his recent interview and shared the moment when Stroud face-timed him personally to share the news with him. The 21-year-old QB acted like a true leader and put faith in a WR he had met during the combine.
“I sent him congrats and I told him, ‘tell them to come get me. He was like, ‘I got you. Trust me.’ The next day, he FaceTimed me out of nowhere. I texted him and he FaceTimed me, and he was like, ‘I told them I want you.’ So I was like, OK, it could happen. And then I got that call,” Nathaniel Dell stated vis, Chandler Johnson.
Dell played college football at Houston University and was a standout receiver while topping more than 1,300 yards in his last two seasons. The Texans fans believe that they have found a pairing for the future with C.J. Stroud and Nathaniel Dell.
C.J. Stroud met Nathaniel Dell during the NFL combine

Nathaniel Dell had a decent performance during the NFL combine and it didn’t go to waste. C.J. Stroud immediately noticed the young WR and the duo started texting each other over their progress before the draft.
“Right after the Combine we were texting each other,” Dell said. “He talked to me after the Combine, he said ‘I like how you run routes, I like how you play football’ he said he had been watching me and stuff like that. I told him vice versa and I appreciated him.”
This duo can turn out to be a massive success for the Texans or the ultimate failure. However, they will need all the talent they can gather to compete with the heavyweights in the division like the Jacksonville Jaguars.
C.J. Stroud has shown massive potential with the Buckeyes and it will be expected that he does the same with the Texans. He will need all the help he can get from rookie WR Nathaniel Dell.
