The USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams is one of the most hyped prospects to come out of college. He is projected to be the first overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Amidst this situation, the star prospect congratulated Kliff Kingsbury for securing the Washington Commanders‘ offensive coordinator job, leading fans to speculate the Commanders might move up to draft him.

On Sunday, ESPN reported that the Commanders are closing in on a deal to hire the former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury as their new offensive coordinator. Later, Williams posted a story on his Instagram profile congratulating Kingsbury for getting the Commanders’ job.

This news comes just a couple of days after Kingsbury withdrew his name from the Las Vegas Raiders offensive coordinator job consideration. The Raiders had to settle for Luke Getsy after missing out on Kingsbury.

However, now the main focus is on Williams congratulating Kingsbury. After the Cardinals fired Kingsbury, he worked with the USC Trojans as their offensive analyst during the 2023 college football season. So, Williams might’ve simply congratulated one of his coaches on getting a bigger job. However, fans believe there’s more to Williams’ post.

There have been rumors in the past that Caleb Williams is not keen on getting drafted by the Chicago Bears since he doesn’t believe in the organization. Currently, the Bears are holding the No.1 overall pick in the 2024 Draft and they could easily select Williams while trading away Justin Fields for more resources.

But now, fans believe the Commanders could swoop in and give up the farm to the Bears in order to move up in the draft boards and rope in Williams to their squad. Kingsbury rejecting the Raiders’ offer and accepting the Commanders’ offer also leads to fans believing Williams will end up in Washington.
