Caleb Williams is the undisputed best quarterback in college football right now. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner is projected to be the number one overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s had a terrific start to this season. Before USC’s week 7 game against Notre Dame, Williams led his team to six consecutive victories to start the 2023 college football season. However, the game against Notre Dame proved to be a disaster for USC as they suffered their first loss of the season.

Williams had an extremely forgettable game, throwing three interceptions as the USC Trojans were hammered by 28 points on the road. After the game, a lot of the Notre Dame fans trolled the star QB for his poor performance. One particular fan filmed himself while doing so and the video went viral on social media. Williams clapped back at that fan on Wednesday.

“I mean, everybody wants to be in these two [size] 12.5 shoes right here,” Williams told reporters. “I’m not worried about some kid running out on the field that doesn’t have anything really associated to Notre Dame other than possibly their family going there or him going there himself. Got a lot of guys over here that I’ve got to lead, so some opinion of a sheep, lions don’t worry about that stuff. Keep moving on, keep fighting. Fight on.”

The Trojans will face the Utah Utes in their next game on Sunday. They will look to bounce back from a demoralizing loss against Notre Dame and Williams will look to have another one of his great games.

Caleb Williams had his worst game as a Trojan against Notre Dame

Caleb Williams has been playing for the USC Trojans since 2022. In his first season with the Trojans, Williams won the coveted Heisman Trophy as the best player in college football. He entered the 2023 season with the same expectations and has been terrific so far. Except for his latest performance against Notre Dame.

In that game, Williams threw three interceptions. During his Heisman season last year, he threw five total interceptions throughout the season. He has thrown four already through seven games, three of those coming against a feisty Notre Dame side.

It was a demoralizing loss, but the Trojans are still in a great position having won six of their first seven games of the season. They will play the Utah Utes in their next game. Williams will hope to have a bounce-back game against the Utes.
