If teams have been wondering how to stop Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans offense, then they just need to take a look at what No.14 Utah has been doing. The team appears to be the kryptonite of the quarterback as he is 0-3 against them to date. Last year, Utah handed him the first loss of the Trojans season after the team had gotten off to a hot start by winning six straight games.

This year, Notre Dame snapped the USC Trojans six-game win streak and Utah just handed them their second loss of the season. Utah is ranked as the 9th best defense in College Football this season so far as per the NCAA while Notre Dame came in at number 14.

Utah has had Williams’ number whenever the team faces off against USC, but when one looks at the bigger picture following the consecutive losses of the Trojans, there is a concerning pattern. No wonder he looked distraught on sidelines after yesterday’s game.

That fact is that Caleb has struggled against top defenses. The proof is in the pudding. NBC Connecticut reported that when the Heisman winner played against a defense that was not within the top 25, he averaged a 70.3% completion rate and 317.2 yards per game while throwing 78 touchdowns and just 7 interceptions over the course of 23 total games.

Now, when Williams played against a top-25 defense, his average completion rate fell to 51.4% while his yards per game dwindled to 172.0, and here’s the most concerning part. He had six touchdowns to six interceptions.

Caleb Williams has not been able to deliver when it comes to playing against the best defenses, and college football fans called him out on it. They did not hold back, and some even dubbed him to be “overrated” and that he will not do as good in the NFL.

This tweet probably caused more damage to Caleb Williams than the Utes did.

It was not all on him. He did play a part but USC just did not show up as a team.

So does this mean that Caleb Williams will never win a college championship? It does look like it, but there is that 1% chance of him returning to college for one more year. His father has stated that if his son does not feel that his potential landing spot in the 2024 draft is not good.
