Who would be the quarterback of the Chicago Bears for the 2024 season? Will the Bears stick with Justin Fields for another year and witness his progress, or will they select former USC starter and Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams in the draft?

Williams is projected to be the first overall pick by the Bears in the upcoming draft. Although his first choice isn’t to live in a windy city, as each day passes, the 22-year-old has sent signals on social media, which can only be perceived as indicating that his preference is changing slowly towards playing for Chicago.

Meanwhile, the Bears general manager, Ryan Poles, has been very active, adding several free agents and forging a formidable offense for next season. On Thursday, NFL.com revealed that Poles made the move of bringing experienced wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Chargers in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick (No. 110 overall).

Allen is only the second Chargers player to eclipse more than 900 catches and 10,000 yards (the first being Antonio Gates). His 59 touchdowns are the third-best in franchise history. Naturally, he will provide a stable head in a young Bears squad, along with the yards and TDs.

Fans were happy with the announcement. But alongside them, Caleb Williams appeared to have similar emotions regarding Allen’s move. He retweeted a post that gave an update on the 31-year-old’s new home.

Caleb Williams stops by at Jacksonville

Amidst all the intense speculations about his possible move to the Chicago Bears in the draft, Caleb Williams was spotted in a very unexpected place. Williams was recently spotted shaking hands with people at the Players Championship training camp in Jacksonville, Florida.

Bears News host Adam Hoge shared a screenshot of Williams watching the coveted golf tournament. The PGA Tour website confirmed the presence of the ex-Trojan mingling with some of the participants at the event.

Those who want Williams to play for the Bears shouldn’t be too worried about this. First of all, anyone is free to watch golf. Second, the Jacksonville Jaguars already have former No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence. On top of that, they recently added Mac Jones to their ranks as Lawrence’s competitor. The Jaguars also don’t have a high draft pick because they had a relatively average campaign, which could have been better if they hadn’t collapsed after Week 11.

Anyway, the consensus so far is that Williams is close to becoming the new Bears quarterback. But before that, Poles has to find a new home for Justin Fields. Perhaps a switch to the Minnesota Vikings is on the horizon.
