Dreams do come true, all it takes is perseverance and faith in oneself. The recent success of talented football kicker Donald De La Haye, more familiarly known by his moniker Deestroying on YouTube, Instagram, and other prominent social media handles is a testament to that statement.

For years, De La Haye had been hoping to get a shot at making it to the pro league and he finally got his shot in the UFL as a kicker for the San Antonio Brahmas. Cam Newton, former NFL quarterback for the Carolina Panthers and the New England Patriots has been actively sharing his opinions via his 4th & 1 podcast.

He reacted to Deestroying’s pro debut in the UFL and gave him his flowers for hanging in there. With that being said, Newton pointed out that he viewed De La Haye’s debut from two perspectives.

I'm proud of him man, I'm really proud....he's always wanted to be in the league...I'm going to give you two sides, I'm proud of him, I've been following his path to where he is now, very entertaining and insightful content that a person of his magnitude is bringing everybody along his journey. The good, the bad, the struggles, the day-to-day, that's very admirable and I think that the UFL has in some ways benefitted of his platform too. The second part is, him being a kicker, where's the field goals?...Can you kick them goals?...We want to see them field goals.

Deestroying did not get an opportunity to kick field goals in his UFL Debut

In his UFL debut, Deestroying managed to get multiple opportunities to punt the ball but he did not get a chance to kick a field goal. Cam Newton’s point is that while De La Haye has done a commendable job of making his fans a part of his football journey, and it is amazing to see him get the chance he deserves to go pro, fans want to see him kick field goals and put points on the board.

It is cool to punt the ball but ultimately, it is the scoring that fans love the most. When Deestroying begins to score points for his team, fans can tell how much of his skillset that is on display in his social media content translates to the professional game.

Cam Newton is eagerly waiting to see Donald De La Haye kick a field goal during crunch time. The NFL veteran emphasized that he wants to see the kicker see success in the professional world.

I'm rooting for him, I think a lot of people are rooting for him...
Cam Newton added

De La Haye’s massive fan following of 2.7 million on Instagram and nearly 5 million strong fanbases on YouTube are rooting for him, after all the punter has managed to consistently grow with his fans. He has indeed come a long way since his inception, while it was good to see the Brahmas win their first game, fans will be eagerly awaiting his first field goal.
