The Carolina Panthers icon Cam Newton is trying to make a comeback to the league and recently even claimed that he is willing to become a backup quarterback for some particular signal-callers. Amidst this, he is now facing a personal off-field issue as he sues the mother of his 4 children Kia Proctor over possession of his rare 1917 Bentley.

According to court documents, the lawsuit filed by Newton against Shakia ‘Kia’ Proctor alleges that Proctor is keeping Newton’s rare Bentley vehicle and “refuses to return the car” despite their split back in 2019. The Bentley in question was purchased by Newton back on May 23, 2018, and was given as a gift to his then-girlfriend Kia Proctor. The vehicle is still registered in Newton’s name and he expected her to return it to him once their relationship ended.

“In 2019, the relationship ended, and [Proctor] moved out of [Newton’s] residence. As part of the moveout process, [Newton] allowed [Proctor] to use the car to move her things out of the Plaintiff’s residence with the understanding that the car would be promptly returned,” the suit read. “[Proctor] never returned the vehicle to [Newton] after she moved out of [Newton’s] residence,” the lawsuit added.

The former league MVP QB Newton dated Kia Proctor from 2013 to 2019 and had four children together. The couple decided to split after Newton had a child with model La Reina Shaw.

Last year, Newton was on the receiving end of a lawsuit from Proctor. The 35-year-old sued the ex-NFL QB for not paying utility bills for the home where she is raising their four children. And now, Newton has filed a lawsuit against her over the possession of 1917 Bently.

Cam Newton once opened up about cheating on Kia Proctor

Back in January 2020, the Panthers quarterback Cam Newton made a lot of buzz around the league following his split from his long-term girlfriend and the mother of his 4 children, Kia Proctor.

Later, it came to light that Newton cheated on Proctor and had a child with model La Reina Shaw, which led to Proctor leaving Newton. A couple of years later this incident, the former Pro Bowl QB opened up about the whole situation.

During his appearance on The Pivot podcast back in June 2022, Newton said he made a “humanistic mistake” that hurt his long-term girlfriend, Proctor, and jeopardized their family. After his split with Proctor, Newton and La Reina Shaw had a brief relationship before going their separate ways. As of now, the QB is apparently single and is looking to make a comeback in the league.
