The Arizona Cardinals defeated Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos in a close preseason matchup on Saturday. Wilson, in a shocking move, had some playing minutes in the preseason game and had a decent outing. Still, the Broncos’ loss led to the Cardinals’ social media team trolling the veteran quarterback with a trending meme.
The Cardinals combined the viral video of a woman screaming in a plane “That motherf**er right there is not real” with a workout video of the Broncos leader Russell Wilson. This hilarious jab is a reference to the time Wilson reportedly worked out on a plane during the 2022 season.
Last season, Wilson told reporters that during an 8-hour trip to London, he spent 4 hours doing physical exercises up-and-down the aisle. Wilson reportedly did it as a part of his rehab from the hamstring pull. And now, Wilson’s workout has become an internet meme. The video went viral, accumulating nearly 5 million views, but the Cardinals ended up deleting their video. However, it is now etched on social media forever.
Nonetheless, the Broncos, despite starting their franchise QB Wilson and most of their first-string players in the preseason game ended up losing a close game 16-17. Wilson completed 7 of 13 pass attempts for 93 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game. The Broncos’ star receiver Jerry Jeudy caught 2 passes for 40 yards and 1 touchdown.

Will Russell Wilson regain his old form in 2023?

The Broncos QB Russell Wilson looked sharp in their preseason matchup against the Cardinals. But he still ended up getting mocked after the Denver-based football team took a loss against the Cards.
Wilson has been getting trolled a lot from last season due to his poor outing in Denver after signing an expensive contract. But now, he will have the mentorship of the veteran head coach, Sean Payton. Under Payton’s guidance, Wilson might be able to regain his old form in the upcoming season.
The Broncos acquired Sean Payton in the offseason in a trade with the New Orleans Saints. Payton is returning to coaching after taking a year off during the 2022 NFL season.
Payton decided to take a break from football following the abysmal season with the Saints in 2021. Now, he will try to lead the Broncos to Super Bowl glory along with the veteran QB Russell Wilson.
The Broncos are in one of the toughest divisions in the entire league. If Wilson can’t regain his old playing form, then Broncos might not be able to even make it to the postseason.
