The former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald reveals that the Buccaneers’ legendary QB Tom Brady is happy following his poetic retirement announcement. Brady announced his retirement in the first week of February via a short video on his social media accounts.
The sudden yet unsurprising announcement stunned many people around the league. Many people questioned the decision since Brady was still playing at a high level and teams were highly interested in signing the 15-time Pro Bowler. Amidst this, the future Hall of Fame wideout Fitzgerald has shown support to his friend and the former Buccaneers QB Tom Brady.
“I talk to Tom once a week,” said Fitzgerald according to PEOPLE magazine. “For him, it wasn’t about him playing or not playing. I just want him to be happy. At the end of the day, you just want the best for your friends, and if he’s internally grateful about the decision that he made, then I support him 100%.”
The former Cardinals wideout used to dominate the opposing defenses week in and week out during his days and, like Tom Brady, he also went out of the game on his own. The 11-time Pro Bowler hasn’t officially retired yet, but the last time he saw some playing time was during the 2020 season. Fitzgerald played 17 seasons for the Cardinals and dominated the league during his time.
Larry Fitzgerald wholly supports his friend Tom Brady

Following Tom Brady’s retirement, he’s been busy with multiple film and television projects under his banner “199 Productions”. He also announced that he will not rush to get back to work since he wants to spend time with his kids.
While many are talking about Brady’s next move in his post-NFL career, his podcast buddy Larry Fitzgerald says that he fully supports Brady in whatever he wants to do, even if it is playing football again.
“Every time we talk, every time I see him on camera he’s smiling, and our texts back and forth, he’s happy,” Fitzgerald stated. “He seems like he’s fulfilled and he’s content, and I think that’s the biggest thing. But like I said, I just want him to be. If he said he wanted to come back and play? God bless you, brother. I’m going to support you. If you say you don’t want to do anymore? God bless you. I’m going to support you. I just want him to be happy.”
It’s very unlikely that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Tom Brady will unretire for a second consecutive year, but you can never doubt the 7-time Super Bowl Champion’s obsession with football.
