DeAndre Hopkins is one of the greatest wide receiver talents of all time. The Cardinals WR is on the right track to end his career with a Hall of Fame resume. He is currently on the trade block and multiple teams are interested in acquiring the 30-year-old wide receiver. However, before all these accomplishments and fame, Hopkins was once accused of trashing his hotel room and leaving it in a disarray during the 2013 NFL Combine.

NFL Combine is an important process in a player’s career but when the Clemson product DeAndre Hopkins attended the 2023 Combine in Indianapolis, it became a nightmare for him. Hopkins and the former Rutgers WR Mark Harrison both allegedly trashed their hotel room in Crowne Plaza and left the room covered in urine and feces according to multiple reports.

Hopkins and Harrison both rejected the accusations and claimed that they had nothing to do with the state of the room. “I got done before Mark Harrison, so I was already packed. I already took a shower and packed and everything. Mark came in and we spoke for at least 20 minutes about the combine. Then the bellman came in and helped me get my bags out. And I left. That’s, honestly, all I can say,” Hopkins told Fox Sports in 2013.

Furthermore, DeAndre Hopkins also suggested the hotel management look at the security camera footage to find out who did it. Nevertheless, the damage was already done.

The hotel trashing news became a big story ahead of the 2013 NFL Draft and caused a little drop in his draft stock. But in the end, he was still selected in the first round by the Houston Texans and the rest is history.

Hopkins went on to play for 7 seasons for the Texans and registered 8602 receiving yards and 54 receiving touchdowns. However, the Texans surprisingly traded the All-Pro receiver to the Arizona Cardinals for a running back and a second-round Draft pick in the 2020 off-season. That trade is regarded as one of the worst trades of all time in NFL history.

Anyhow, the 6’1″ WR has been to 5 Pro Bowl and was named to the first-team All-Pro squad 3 times in his 10-year career so far. Currently, Hopkins is in the trade market again and will certainly find a new home in the next few weeks.
