There’s a trend brewing in New York! After running back Dalvin Cook vented out frustrations with his role in the New York Jets team, a second player has done the same now. The Jets’ star pass rusher Carl Lawson has now shown resentment over his usage by the Jets team in the ongoing NFL season.

There are rumors that Lawson — who has been healthy but inactive in a couple of games for the Jets this season — could get moved to some other team before the trade deadline. But Lawson seemingly doesn’t want that to happen and wants to contribute to the New York-based football team.

I definitely want to play and contribute because I know I can. I’ve proven that. Yeah, I always want to contribute, but right now I’m with the Jets, but I definitely want to play more. I definitely want to do what I did last year and then some. Coming off a double Achilles, I put up good numbers. I feel like I can do more. . . I’m a football player, not a cheerleader.

Lawson was a big free agent signing by the Jets during the 2021 season. He missed the entire 2021 season with an Achilles injury, but he came back stronger in 2022 and registered 7 sacks while playing for the Jets. And now, he’s fully healthy, but he is not getting used by head coach Robert Saleh, prompting Lawson to express his frustrations to ESPN.

Nonetheless, the Jets have an abundance of talent in their defensive unit and that’s why Carl Lawson hasn’t seen the field as much as he would’ve hoped. The Jets would be looking to shop Lawson and get some draft assets in return for him. He could be moved to some other team before the trade deadline on Tuesday.

Carl Lawson isn’t the only one to be frustrated with his role in the Jets

Recently, the Jets defensive end Carl Lawson opened up about his minimalized role with the New York-based franchise in the ongoing season. He wasn’t the only player to do so.

The Jets’ star running back Dalvin Cook also did the same in a locker room interview. Cook was added by the Jets as a backup to their second-year RB Breece Hall.

But the 4-time Pro Bowler isn’t getting as many touches as he would’ve hoped and has now expressed his own frustration. Since Hall and the Jets’ second-stringer Michael Carter are performing well so far, New York might be looking to move on from Cook as well. The Jets are expected to make some moves at the trade deadline.
