The Dallas Cowboys led by their star quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a humiliating loss against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in their week 5 matchup. Following the morale-downing loss, many experts have been criticizing Prescott for his poor performance in the blowout loss. And now, the Cowboys’ star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has made some confusing comments about his team’s offensive unit.

During the post-game interview, Lamb was asked by a reporter about what is the identity of the Dallas offense. To which the star pass catcher simply replied “I don’t know.” The reporter then stressed the question by asking, “Should you [know] five weeks into the season?” But Lamb didn’t give in and simply answered, “I guess so. I don’t know.”

Furthermore, the reporter then stressed how are the Cowboys going to find the identity of their offense. Lamb seemingly didn’t want to answer that as he once again just said, “I don’t know.”

CeeDee Lamb’s unfazed answers have raised a lot of concerns among the Cowboys fanbase. Some believe that the 4th-year wide receiver is upset about the lack of targets for him in the ongoing season. Lamb hasn’t been a big factor in Dallas’ offense through the first five weeks of the regular season. He has had one big game against the New York Jets in week 2, where he caught 11 passes for 143 yards. Since then, he has had only 12 catches in the next three games.

In the brutal loss against the 49ers, the 24-year-old pass catcher caught 4 passes for 49 yards. But the Cowboys’ number 1 receiver only having 4 receptions did not sit well with many experts.

Jerry Jones comments on the usage of CeeDee Lamb

Following the rough loss against the San Francisco-based football team on Sunday, the Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones showed full support to his franchise quarterback Dak Prescott. However, when reporters asked about the lack of targets for CeeDee Lamb, Jones brushed off the concerns.

Jones reportedly said that the ball needs to spread around all the wide receivers and the tight ends when he was asked about why Lamb had only 5 targets on Monday against a team like the Niners. “I don’t know about that,” said Jones.

Lamb is playing in the final year of his rookie deal, and soon the Cowboys will have to offer him an extension. But Lamb getting fewer targets this season might lead to the wide receiver not attracting a lot of big deals in free agency if the Dallas-based football decides not to extend him.
