The case of Chad Wheeler sends shivers down the spines of football fans. In January 2021, the offensive tackle for the Seattle Seahawks assaulted his then-girlfriend Alleah Taylor. After pictures surfaced, it was a horrifying sight to witness as her face was bloodied and her nose was filled with blood. Once the true account of what went down came out, it was clear that Wheeler deserved to face the punishment by law.
30-year-old Chad Wheeler strangled Alleah Taylor until she was unconscious, her arm was broken and she was left for dead with a bloodied nose and mouth. The offensive tackle was brought to justice after nearly three years as a jury convicted him in King County, Washington of first and second-degree assault/domestic violence.
Wheeler will now locked up behind bars for 81 months or roughly 7 years. In addition to this, the Judge sentenced Wheeler to 36 months of community custody. Following his sentencing, Taylor revealed to USA Today that she was “very satisfied” with the ruling as “it’s very unheard of that a Black woman was able to get justice from a White NFL player.”

1) that feels short 2) didn't the incident take place a couple years ago? I know justice moves slow but this feels especially slow.

6.5 years for beating her nearly to death is absurd. Should be away for life.

Chad Wheeler has been found to have bipolar disorder and did not take his medication as he should have. In some of his other episodes, he was once found running down a road naked in King County, Washington. In another instance, he claimed to have killed multiple famous people who were still alive and well. Hopefully, he gets the medical help he requires along with serving his penance.
