The Los Angeles Chargers faced a massive setback in the first quarter of their matchup against the Green Bay Packers when star linebacker Joey Bosa suffered a foot injury. He was doing his job and rushing the QB but amid the play, his right foot gave up and he ended up lifting his leg in the air while hopping on his left foot.
Joey Bosa was attended to by medical staff on the sidelines and had his teammates and coaches talk to him. After initial examination, the staff carted him off to the locker room, it was emotional to see Joey Bosa be carted off as one can see he was in a lot of pain and hated the fact that he was being forced to leave.
Bosa was crying into his towel and while the team first said that he is questionable to return, they have now said that he is out for the night. The Joey Bosa injury is pretty concerning, the linebacker has been susceptible to injuries in the past as well. In 2022, he missed 12 games because of a groin tear, and this year, he missed Week 4 and was limited for the following two weeks due to his hamstring.
Joey Bosa could have potentially torn his Achilles tendon
The Los Angeles Chargers are going to miss Joey Bosa as he is second to Khalil Mack in terms of sacks recorded so far this season with 6.5 as compared to his teammate’s 9. The Chargers offense has been terrible but their defense is the one area wherein they had a reason to be optimistic about.
Joey Bosa is on a five-year, $135 million contract extension with the Chargers, but his availability has hindered him from being able to play at his full potential all season long. Last season, he could play in just 5-games.

The biggest fear in the minds of all Chargers fans would be if this injury is related to his Achilles. How he hopped off the field and positioned his leg does raise suspicions regarding the same. This season has been an injury-ridden one across the NFL with Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers, J.K. Dobbins, and Tre’Davious White all falling victim to an Achilles injury ending their season. For now, nothing but well wishes and prayers for Joey Bosa to make sure he gets back on the field as soon as possible!
