Chargers set their eyes on Jim Harbaugh and Eric Bienemy as HC contenders for next season
The Chargers could entice Harbaugh to make a move for LA because of their past connections but have to wait till the CFP Finals is over.

All’s well when it ends well, as they say, and Jim Harbaugh could bow out with a championship title because they crossed the Rose Bowl hurdle by beating the Alabama Crimson Tide 27-20. Yes, that same Michigan head coach who did not stand on the sidelines for the first three games for violating the Big Ten’s sportsmanship policy. And wasn’t present for the final three for an alleged sign-stealing controversy.
Harbaugh set out to do what several others before him, including himself, had failed to achieve. That’s to win a national championship for Michigan. It’s astonishing how a team that has the most wins in college football history hasn’t won a CFP final for more than 20 years.
One can easily say they are the biggest chokers in the game. They have a bowl record of 21-29 and 0-2 in college football playoff games. But this #ranked team is different according to its quarterback, JJ McCarthy.
Everything that happened this year made us invincible.McCarthy said after the game
It was a sharp dig at all the negative publicity that the Harbaugh incidents drew toward the program. It was his cheeky screen pass that set up running back Blake Corum for a 17-yard mazy run to secure the Rose Bowl win in overtime. McCarthy did not skip on the tradition of chewing on a rose.
But even an Ohio State fan would accept the impact Harbaugh has had on the Wolves program. And what they would pray for is to see the back of the 60-year-old. However, he has a message for them, as per Al.com:
My future consists of a happy flight back to Ann Arbor, Michigan!
Does Jim Harbaugh fit into the Los Angeles Chargers system?
The NFL regular season only has one game day left, and the Los Angeles Chargers are without their starting quarterback, head coach fired, a 5-11 record, and are at the bottom of the AFC West. It means their season is over. So they can look forward to 2024 and possibly add a few good rookies in the next draft.
However, even before that, the Chronicles need to sort out their head coach conundrum. There are already a couple of names floating around in the mix. Such as Eric Bieniemy, Bill Belichick, and Jim Harbaugh.
All three are viable options for owner Dean Spanos. Yet according to several reports, Harbaugh could be the one wearing the Bolts’ colors in a month or so. He has a prior connection with the franchise, having played as their quarterback for two seasons (1999–2000). So he knows the culture of the team.
Not only that, Harbaugh has NFL experience as well, winning 69% of his games with the San Francisco 49ers (2011–2014). Under his mentorship, Colin Kaepernick became a star, and they even reached the Super Bowl in 2013.
The Chargers desperately need an offensive-minded coach who can set Justin Herbert loose on the league. Their defense is stacked with players like Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa. So if Harbaugh does move to California, it will benefit the team. But before that, a deal with destiny in the CFP Final on January 8 against the Washington Huskies.
