Merrianne Do, and her family showed up to cheer for her favorite Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium. Their wild celebrations began when backup quarterback Easton Stick rallied the Chargers to take an early lead against the Buffalo Bills.
Going into Saturday night’s clash, which will not have any ad breaks in the fourth quarter, the Chargers were aiming to utilize the run game. Through the first three drives, their intentions were clear about how the rest of the night would pan out. It worked out perfectly after the first quarter ended.
Do, the Walgreens pharmacist, became an overnight sensation during the Cowboys game. Dubbed the Chargers Superfan, cheered the loudest when Stick picked up the football and ran to score a rushing touchdown early in the second half.
The implications were that Stick was capable of making those darting runs, and it paid off nicely. Even though the Chargers gave up 60 points in the last game, they showed that there’s still a fight left in the fourth quarter. The 28-year-old, who had barely any NFL experience prior to the Raiders game, threw a couple of brilliant passes to Austin Ekeler and Quentin Johnston to keep the game interesting.
The Los Angeles Chargers fall short once again
When Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker dispatched his third field goal of the night, as they were trailing by 8 in the game, the fan in Do must have thought they had a chance to turn things around. That hunch grew into a solid belief when Dicker buried his fourth from 45 yards with seven minutes left to play.

Stick, at that point, had thrown more than 200 yards through the air. But the last quarter belonged to the placekickers. After Dicker scored his fifth on the night from 53 yards, the Chargers fans thought they would finally record a win since the Patriots game.
However, the Bills had the last laugh. It was their kicker Tyler Bass, who hasn’t missed the target when the goal range is between 20 and 30, drilled one in from 29 yards to steal the game under the LA’s noses. With just 30 seconds left on the clock, the Buffalo clinched their ninth win of the season.
The Los Angeles Chargers lost the game even though they had possession of the ball for seven more minutes. Stick finished the game with 22/32 for 207 yards and 7 carries for 25 yards, scoring a touchdown. Running back Austin Ekeler recorded 15 carries for 65 yards.
For the Bills, quarterback Josh Allen had a mixed-bag game, completing 15/21 for 237 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, taking his season tally to 14. Wide receiver Gabe Davis caught four catches for 130 yards and a touchdown. Running back James Cook continued his stellar form with 20 carries for 70 yards.
The Buffalo Bills are now 9-6 for the season, and the win meant they leapfrogged three teams to stand in the 6th spot in the AFC playoff seed. Next, they will welcome the 3-11 New England Patriots at Orchard Park, where they have six wins in 2023.
