On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs led by their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes squared off against their AFC West division rivals Denver Broncos in their week 8 NFL matchup. Mahomes and the Chiefs ended up suffering a humiliating loss in the absence of Travis Kelce‘s girlfriend Taylor Swift, prompting fans to troll the Chiefs on social media.

The Chiefs entered the game as 7-point road favorites but ended up losing the game by a difference of 15 points. Mahomes, the star QB of the Kansas City-based football team, had one of the worst games of his career as he threw for multiple interceptions and no touchdowns, eventually leading the Chiefs to suffer a morale-downing loss.

Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce led the Chiefs in receiving yards, but he only managed to register 58 receiving yards. It should be noted that the Chiefs’ All-Pro tight end averages 108 yards per game when Swift is in attendance. But on Sunday, with Swift skipping the game because of her Eras Tour concert, Kelce only managed to register 58 receiving yards.

On the other side, the Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson balled out in Denver as he managed to accumulate 3 passing touchdowns in the crucial game. As a result, the Denver-based football team managed to secure a 24-9 victory over the defending Super Bowl Champions. With this victory, the Broncos improved to a 3-5 record and are staying in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs dropped to 6-2 following their shocking loss on Sunday. They are still 3 games ahead of everyone else in the AFC West division and are still tied for the best record in the AFC. But this upset loss could end up hurting their seedings in the future.
