The Arizona Cardinals surprisingly released their star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins this off-season. Now, the unrestricted free-agent wide receiver is exploring his options in free agency and has received offers from multiple teams. But the long-time sports analyst Craig Carton cannot believe that the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs are not in the race to sign the 5-time Pro Bowl wideout.
Speaking on The Carton Show on Fox Network, the sports analyst Carton said, “I cannot understand why Kansas City doesn’t have an interest, at least one that we’re aware of in DeAndre Hopkins. When you consider their wide receiver corps right now, it’s not a who’s who and I can’t figure out.”
“I sometimes think they get cocky and they think, well, it’s Andy Reid, it’s Patrick Mahomes, it’s Travis Kelce. Period. Stop. We’re good, we’ll make anybody in this offense good, clearly. But the fact that they don’t have an interest in him to me is a red flag,” said Carton.
Carton does make a good point. The Chiefs lost their number 1 wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster to the New England Patriots in the off-season. Their star tight end Travis Kelce remains the number 1 option for Mahomes. They also lost Mecole Hardman Jr. to the New York Jets. They haven’t really added any players to replace the two-pass catchers.
And DeAndre Hopkins, who might want to play for a contender at this stage of his career showed massive interest in signing with the Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. But the Chiefs showed no interest at all. Craig Carton can’t seem to figure out why.
DeAndre Hopkins has offers from the Patriots and the Titans

The defending Super Bowl champions Chiefs might not have interest in signing the former All-Pro pass catcher DeAndre Hopkins but he is receiving offers from multiple other teams. The Tennessee Titans and the Patriots are currently battling each other to sign the 30-year-old wideout. According to multiple reports, the Patriots have offered a huge contract to D-Hop.
The Patriots are residing in one of the best divisions in the league with multiple playoff teams and if they want to compete in the division, they need someone like Hopkins in their team.
On the other hand, the Titans are in one of the worst divisions in the league, and adding a player like Hopkins would help them a lot in their quest to clinch a playoff sport by winning the division.
