The interview of Harrison Butker with EWTN is earning him a lot of media buzz. In the interview, Butker was seen talking about his pro-life convictions, major social issues like gun violence, and Taylor Swift. He addressed the gun violence that took place in the Chiefs’ victory celebration parade nearly a month ago.
A gunman broke into the parade in Kansas City while the people were celebrating the success of their beloved team. The shooting occurred near the Kansas City Station. With a person dying and multiple casualties in the fatal incident, the Chiefs’ players extended their support for the people of Kansas City. From the likes of Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce, everyone stood by the side of the victims.
Months later, Butker also spoke of the event. Known as a devoted Catholic, he tried to provide a healthier solution beyond gun control in the USA.
The placekicker was asked about whether gun control would help society to control situations like this. He said that gun control would help but what would be more impactful was the role of fathers in the family.
I know gun violence was a big discussion, but at the end of the day, this is degenerate violence and it should not be occurring--I think we need strong fathers in the home. We need men that are leading, that are setting good examples, that are teaching the young men in our society that violence is not the way to handle our disputes.Butker in his interview with EWTN News
Harrison Butker is a fan of parenthood
The father of two, Harrison Butker, is a fan of ideal parenthood. For him, family comes first and nothing is beyond a good family. When he was asked about the relationship of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, he even advocated that both need to settle down as well in the coming time.
Even while advocating for reduced violence, Butker noted that families would play a major role. For him, fathers construct the strongest figures in any family and hence they are expected to provide great lessons.
It’s very unfortunate what happened. Unfortunately, many, many children were injured. A beautiful young lady was killed over someone getting offended, and turning to violence to handle that dispute. It’s so sad. I don’t think guns are the issue. I think we need strong fathers in the home that are being great examples for our youth.Butker added
The Kansas City Chiefs kicker will now be gearing up for the three-peat. With his great place-kicking ability, Butker made a lot of fans. His placekicking has even earned some words of appreciation from the pop singer Taylor Swift.
