Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, a partnership made in heaven. They have been the centerpieces of the Kansas City Chiefs dynasty for the past five years. Their camaraderie on and off the field is a great example of an ultimate friendship. That kind of friendship includes knowing when to talk to the other person and when to leave him alone. Mahomes knows when to leave Kelce alone, and he talked about it in the post-game interview after their Minnesota Vikings game on Sunday.
During the Chiefs and Vikings game on Sunday, Kelce injured his right leg in the later stages of the first half. He left the game and had to get X-rays during halftime. He returned to the game in the second half and helped the Chiefs win a tough road game. Mahomes revealed after the game that he did not speak to Kelce in the locker room at halftime following his injury. Apparently, Kelce is a ‘mean guy’ when he’s injured.
“”I don’t like to talk to Travis when he’s hurting because he’s a mean guy,” Mahomes told reporters after the game. They both connected 10 times against the Vikings, as Kelce finished the game with 10 catches for 67 yards and one score. Mahomes had a pretty good game himself, completing 31 of his 41 pass attempts for 281 yards and two touchdowns.
The Chiefs are looking to repeat as Super Bowl champions this season. They need Mahomes and Kelce to be one of the greatest duos in NFL history, as they have been in the recent past. The only thing that might hamper that is injuries, and the Chiefs will hope that Kelce’s injury isn’t a serious one.
Patrick Mahomes hails Travis Kelce as ‘one of the greatest’
Travis Kelce is one of, if not the best, tight ends in the history of the NFL. He has been winning Super Bowls and breaking records for quite a few years now. He is also tough. At least his QB, Patrick Mahomes, thinks so. He talked about Kelce and his return in the second half of their game against the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a leg injury in the second quarter.

“I feel like Travis has the same mindset as I do,” Mahomes told the reporters after the game. “If you give him a window to get back in the game, he’s going to be back in the game. Competitor, man. That’s why he’s one of the greatest, that he can battle through stuff like that. And he came back and made a lot of great catches for us.”
The Chiefs won the game 27-20. They have improved their record to 4-1 for the season and are looking as dangerous as ever. Mahomes and Kelce have started their respective seasons with some good performances. They will play their next game at home against the Denver Broncos on Thursday.
