Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles suffered a heartbreaking loss against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday. However, the Eagles QB had one of the performances by a quarterback in the Super Bowl that didn’t warrant the MVP award. Following his remarkable outing, the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes praised the third-year quarterback after the game.
The Eagles were the underdogs going into the game, but played their hearts out and went toe-to-toe with the AFC Champions on the big stage. Furthermore, the Eagles QB, Jalen Hurts, who was playing in his first-ever Super Bowl game, arguably outplayed Patrick Mahomes in every aspect of the game. But the 24-year-old couldn’t lead his team to a victory over the Chiefs.
The Pro Bowler Hurts threw for 304 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.1% of his passes. Furthermore, the dual-threat quarterback set the rushing yards record by QB in the Super Bowl by rushing for 70 yards and 3 more touchdowns. Jalen Hurts also excelled in third-down conversions as he managed to convert 11-of-18 3rd downs in the big game.
The Alabama product proved many doubters wrong on Sunday. Before the game, some experts credited Hurts’ success to the stacked Eagles team. But on Sunday he proved that he will rise to any occasion against any big team, and the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes took notice of it.
Patrick Mahomes praise Jalen Hurts for his remarkable performance

The Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes had nothing but praise for the Eagles All-Pro quarterback Jalen Hurts. After the game, Mahomes addressed the media where he called Hurts’ performance a special one.
“If there were any doubters left? There shouldn’t be now,” Mahomes said after the game. “The way he stepped up on this stage, ran and threw the ball, and did whatever his team needed to win, that was a special performance. I don’t want it to get lost in the loss that they have.”
“Even when we took the momentum in that game and went up eight points in the fourth quarter, for him to respond and move his team right down the football field and run it in himself in the two-point conversion — it was a special performance by him,” Mahomes said.
Like the 2022 league MVP Patrick Mahomes mentioned, it was indeed a special performance from Hurts, and the NFL fans who tuned in on Sunday to have a good time would have certainly enjoyed seeing the two best QBs in the league currently going at each other for 60 minutes.
